SPEZIALMATERIAL w/ OPTIMO (ESPACIO), PRINCESS P & LEXX

Some nights carry a little more history than others.

For decades, Spezialmaterial has been bringing extraordinary artists, fearless selectors and true originals to Zurich. From the legendary Andrew Weatherall to countless other uncompromising musical minds, their contribution to the city's underground culture runs deep. Now they're back at Roland with another absolute classic: Glasgow's finest, OPTIMO (ESPACIO).

Born out of the legendary Sunday nights at Glasgow's Sub Club in 1997, Optimo became one of the most influential institutions in underground dance music. JD Twitch (Keith McIvor) and Jonnie Wilkes tore up the DJ rulebook, effortlessly connecting post-punk, disco, acid house, techno, psychedelia and everything in between. Their marathon sessions, adventurous selections and fiercely independent spirit helped redefine what a club night could be.

Following the heartbreaking loss of Keith, his extraordinary musical legacy lives on. A true pioneer, a restless musical explorer and a reminder that great club culture has always been about curiosity, community and the freedom to dance to something unexpected.

This night is as much a celebration of that spirit as it is a reunion of kindred souls.

Joining Optimo are two of Zurich's most beloved selectors: LEXX, a master of cosmic grooves, Balearic treasures and leftfield discoveries, and PRINCESS P, whose infectious energy and impeccable taste have been lighting up dancefloors for years.

Old friends, new encounters, musical adventures and a room full of people who genuinely love music. That's the magic of Roland. A place where generations reconnect, where musical boundaries dissolve and where the original spirit of Kreis 4 still feels very much alive.

No formulas. No pretence. Just music, people and the beautiful freedom of the dancefloor.
