As co-founder and driving force of the iconic band Dead Moon, Toody Cole, alongside her husband and creative partner Fred Cole, helped forge a raw, uncompromising sound that formed a living bridge between original ’60s American garage rock and later punk, garage, and early grunge movements. Her punchy, melodic bass playing and unmistakable vocal presence were essential to Dead Moon’s power-trio dynamic, anchoring a fiercely independent body of work that continues to resonate across generations. Following the passing of drummer Andrew Loomis and Fred Cole, Toody carries the Dead Moon songbook forward with Kelly Haliburton (drums), her longtime bandmate from Pierced Arrows, and Christopher March (guitar) of Jenny Don’t & The Spurs. Together they honor the grit, emotional weight, and self-reliant spirit of Dead Moon’s catalog, delivering these songs with renewed urgency and reverence while preserving one of American rock & roll’s most enduring DIY legacies!
