Festival
FOG (Festival Offener Genres) is Basel's annual festival for experimental electronic music, sound art, and interdisciplinary performance. Across four days and four venues — Kaserne Basel, Tanzhaus, Tinguely Museum, and CONTAINER Club — the 2026 edition presents a program that moves between contemporary electroacoustic music, ambient, drone, avant-garde composition, free improvisation, performative sound art, and club culture. The fourth edition opens at Kaserne with US ambient pioneer William Basinski, alongside a tribute to Éliane Radigue performed by the Elektronisches Studio Basel. Highlights include loscil, Thomas Ankersmit, and Hüma Utku, with a closing A/V performance by Dasha Rush at the Tinguely Museum. Across Friday and Saturday, the Altrove Stage spotlights the experimental scene from Ticino, while CONTAINER Club hosts late-night sets from Corgiat, Blume, and RHB (Herrouine & Gomorra). A continuous sound art group exhibition runs throughout the festival, free and open to the public. Around half of the invited artists are Switzerland-based, anchoring FOG firmly in the local scene while connecting it to an international network. Based in Basel and part of European festival networks including RESET! and EFFE, FOG operates as a platform for hybrid formats and interdisciplinary exchange. TICKETS: Festival passes covering all four days (Thursday to Sunday) are available for CHF 79.-/45.-*, giving access to the full concert and club program. A «FOG Friends» festival pass is available for CHF 99.-, offering the same four-day access while directly supporting the festival through a contribution above the standard rate. For those attending on a single day, day passes for Friday or Saturday are available for CHF 39.-/19.-* and include access to the Container Club night program on the corresponding evening. Single tickets for the Sunday closing performance at the Museum Tinguely are priced at CHF 20.-/10.-, while single tickets for the late-night program at the Container Club are available separately for CHF 15.-/10.-. The Sound Art exhibition is free to attend and open to the public throughout the festival.
